Why does the real print look weaker than the mockup?
It is common to love the mockup and then feel disappointed by the real print on a black shirt. That does not mean your design is wrong. It means preview conditions and print conditions are different.
Typical mismatch symptoms
- Sharp on screen, soft in hand
- Whites and pale accents lose presence
- Shadows feel flatter than expected
- Fine details are harder to read
Why this happens
Screens emit light. Fabric reflects light. Black garments, underbase behavior, and ink spread can all compress contrast and tone transitions.
What to check before ordering
- Is the global contrast still readable on black?
- Do the most important whites remain distinct?
- Are thin lines and subtle details still visible?
- Are gradient transitions still meaningful?
